The CHATTANOOGA BICYCLE CLUB
and OUTDOOR CHATTANOOGA
Present the
21st Annual

May 3, 2008
Note: There are a few sizes and cuts of the
2007 jersey remaining in stock. And matching
socks are still available.
You may order
them on-line thru active.com. It will only show the available sizes and
cuts.
Note: The Chattanooga Marriott hotel is set up as our host
hotel for 2008. They have reserved a large block of rooms for our event at $95.
You may make your reservations online by going
to Marriott.com/chadt , put in your
dates and then enter group code SMCSMCA.
Come experience one of the southeast's
most scenic and challenging centuries. The rigorous 100-mile option will take you through 3
states (Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia) and over 3 mountains (Suck Creek, Sand and
Lookout). Climb and descend Lookout Mountain over the same course as the 2007
Tour de Georgia. The moderate 62-mile option spans 2 states and 1 mountain. The 25-mile option
takes riders across the hilly terrain of 1 state.
Hailed by cyclists as the
most unique century they've ever ridden.
2008 looks be an exciting year
for our event. In 2003, then Mayor
Bob Corker picked two local events supported entirely by local organizations to
showcase Chattanooga. One was the 3-State 3-Mountain Challenge. The City of
Chattanooga has stepped forward to help make this a truly memorable event. The 3-State
will be again be staged at Finley Stadium across the street from the First
Tennessee Pavilion. The
facility is wonderful with even more amenities than the Pavilion. The
Chattanooga Market will be at the Pavilion on Sunday after the 3-State and all
the new waterfront enhancements will be available for the family and non-ride
time activities. This is truly the year to bring
your family and stay the weekend.
(Note:
Registration for the 2008 3-State 3-Mountain Challenge will close when the limit
of 2500 riders is reached or on Apr 23, 2008, whichever is reached first. No
refunds after April 13.)

Rich Hincapie will be leading the nearly 2500 riders as they roll out of Finley
Stadium at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3. Rich, an experienced Cat 1 Racer, is
co-owner of Hincapie Sportswear and serves as brother George’s manager. He also
helps manage the Hincapie/Barkley U23 Development Team – on which Signal
Mountain’s David Talbott and AJ Meyers of Cohutta, GA ride.
We are proud
to have Hincapie as the provider of this year’s event jersey. Rich brings
his competitive and performance oriented mindset to the apparel industry with a
mission to outfit cyclists with the most comfortable, functional and stylish
cycling apparel available.
Rich will be
attending the Expo on Friday afternoon and evening. Drop by the Hincapie booth,
visit and welcome Rich to Chattanooga.
Again, we have rooms reserved at
several hotels near the Stadium. This gives a choice of host hotels conveniently
located with a range of prices and features. Because of all the activities on
this weekend, I would advise reserving your room as early as possible. They may
be very scarce if you wait too long. Again we will have shops and manufacturers
showing off their latest products at the stadium for the packet pickup on Friday
evening. Pick up your ride packets and just hang out. There will be plenty going on. With over 2400
participants last year, we expect even more in 2008.
The 3-State 3-Mountain Challenge
is a Tennessee
Team in Training chosen event. Major sponsors,
Outdoor Chattanooga and Kelly
Subaru are helping to make it an even better than ever event.
Please note: We will keep this web site
updated as things are confirmed so check back regularly for any changes.
