2005 3-State 3-Mountain Challenge

Ugh! The climbing starts!

ST-Green bridge across Tenn River at Haletown between Marion Cty sag and split   

New sag for the quarter and metric century riders.

Oops, you 100 milers get Ladd's Mountain as a bonus!

Going up Sand - but the road is so peaceful!

And now the Pain Begins! - the climb up Burkhalter Gap - a little help is needed

  BK-Some first timers wonder why there is a sag at the bottom of Burkhalter & at the top - 2.5 miles later    BK - return riders know! Thanks, Barbara & Lisa for this wonderful sag!   ST - as if the climb isn't bad enough!

ST - Yes, a little help is GOOD!

And now on September 14, 2005, some 3124 hours and 30 minutes later, Paul Brinson, the victim of a hit and run accident just before the Marion County sag and recipient of a broken hip and collarbone, has completed the full 100 mile 2005 3-State 3-Mountain Challenge. Oh, did I mention that Paul is 70 years old?
